Actors needed for Kutztown Folk Festival Play

The Kutztown Folk Festival is proud to announce an addition to their program for 2007. The return of the play "The Shunning" written by Richard C. Gougler and music by Jack Taylor will be performed daily on the Main Stage. This play was presented at the Kutztown Folk Festival for several decades, and was one of those presentations that made the Festival internationally famous.

The play will be under the direction of Paul W. Moll and musical direction will be by Bryan Hartman. 

All of the actors and participants in the play will be local and regional amateur actors. All are invited for tryouts. Tryouts will be held on Saturday, May 21,2007 at 10:00 am. at the Kutztown Area High School Auditorium.  The play has a cast of 26 people and an orchestra of 10.

The cast consists of the following :
 

5 adult men between the ages of 40 -50 years
3 adult women between the ages of 40 -50 years
4 adult men between the ages of 18 -28 years
5 adult women between the ages of 18 - 28 years
2 young men between the ages of 13 -18 years
1 young girl between the ages of 13 -18 years
6 young children between the ages of 6 -10 years  ( 3 boys & 3 girls )
