Dear Editor,
Plans
for the 2009 Kutztown Folk Festival are well underway, and we believe
this year’s festival will be the best ever. Dates for the event are
June 27 – July 5 at the Kutztown Fairgrounds
In
our annual surveys, visitors tell us what they want and what they like
best about the festival. We try to deliver, and because we do, attendance
has increased steadily. In 2008 we had another record-setting year -
135,000 visitors!
Most
satisfying is the fact that attendance by families with young children
is increasing steadily and is now at an all-time high. The Kutztown
Folk Festival– the nation’s premier folklife festival - appeals
to people of all ages and all backgrounds and, increasingly, from all
over America. They come to enjoy our celebration of Pennsylvania Dutch
traditions and the wholesome family entertainment we offer.
You
may want to know more about the Folk Festival, and we are providing
a general release that gives an overview of the event as well as several
individual releases on folk art and crafts, our huge quilt show, Pennsylvania
Dutch folklore and folklife, music and entertainment, children’s activities,
Pennsylvania Dutch food, and the Festival and the community.
We
also have a collection of excellent reproducible photos available through
our website: www.kutztownfestival.com and on a CD which we will be happy
to send to you.
Just
let us know if we can help arrange interviews for you with one or more
of the colorful and interesting people who make the Festival so enjoyable.
We will do our best to fulfill your special requests. And, of course,
we are pleased to provide press passes to media that wish to cover the
Festival.
Enclosed
is a postage-paid return card for requesting more information. Or call
us at 610-683-1597 or send an e-mail request to dave@kutztownfestival.com
Sincerely,
