just wouldn’t be summer without the Kutztown Festival, the annual celebration
of Pennsylvania Dutch folklife. This year, the festival, which attracts over
100,000 visitors, will take place from June 26 to July 4 at the fairgrounds in

there will be music and entertainment for the entire family, as well as the
Festival’s time-honored programs that focus on the unique customs and
contributions of the Pennsylvania Germans (“Pennsylvania Dutch”) to American
life. The traditional 4th of July parade around the Festival grounds - held in
Kutztown for more than a half-century – will be augmented by other special
Independence Day events. Also, for the fourth consecutive year, a folk dialect
band from
Featured throughout the 9-day Festival will be over 200 nationally-recognized, juried folk artists and traditional American craftsmen; over 2,000 locally handmade quilts and an auction of prize-winning quilts as part of one of the nation’s largest quilt shows; historical reenactments, antiques and collectables, folklife demonstrations, folklore, 5 stages of entertainment, music, dancing, children’s activities, and plenty of Pennsylvania Dutch food.
